48 Hours in London

Happy Monday Everyone!

If you are following us on Instagram you will know that we have just returned from an amazing trip to Madrid and also to London! We spent 48 hours in London after our Madrid trip as we had been in the city before, you can check out our previous post here.

We decided to head over for a quick break and also to try out Sketch London which is probably the most instagrammable restaurant ever! We had a fun two days in the city and you can actually get a good bit done in 48 hours so we hope this post gives you some ideas if you are heading over for a short trip.

On day one we arrived bright and early and headed to our hotel which was the Conrad London St. James. I just want to mention that this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in! Staff were very friendly, the hotel was decorated beautifully and the rooms were super clean so we would definitely return there on future trips. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from Big Ben and Westminster and also about 10 minutes from Trafalgar Square so it is very central. There is also a tube station right across the road making it convenient to get to from the Airport.

After getting changed we headed to Garfunkles on Trafalgar Square for lunch which was delicious! As always Garfunkels does not disappoint. We then headed to oxford street to do a little shopping (or maybe a lot as we were there for quite some time!) and then headed back to get ready dinner.

That evening we headed to the Gallery at Sketch London as I had seen so many photos of this restaurant on Instagram and was dying to go for months. It did not disappoint! While it may be a little expensive it is worth it. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and also not forgetting the amazing decor which you can check out in the photos below. We would definitely go back on our next trip there as it was worth the money and the experience!

The next day we headed up to the Shard as we had not been before. While the views are amazing, we did think it was a little pricy to be honest. But if it’s a must on your list do check it out as it’s pretty cool.

Time for a little more sightseeing so we headed to Covent Garden to check out Neal’s Yard which is a small hidden area full of colourful buildings, again I saw this on Instagram so really wanted to see it in person!

We then went for some lunch and got the tube to Tower Bridge as Bryan had never been before. After many photos were taken it was time to head back in the direction of our hotel. On the way back we headed to Westminster and got those all important pictures of Big Ben that you just have to get when in London no matter how many times you have been 🙂

We had an amazing 48 hours and can’t wait to return again soon as the city is so big even though we have been many times we still have not seen everything!!
