Wow, we have not posted in quite a while! I guess this post we are writing is a bit of an explanation why. Both myself and Bryan are currently Working Full-time and also studying in college so we guess things got a bit manic over the last few weeks with assignments, exams and work!

Working Full-time is a big part of our lives and while we hope that in the future we can travel full-time and become digital nomads/ freelance writers, right now we have commitments here at home and I guess we wanted to share that part of our lives with you too! 

How do we do it?

Luckily having a full-time job with a steady salary helps us to travel frequently and if we were not working full-time right now we would not be travelling as much and not in the way we like to travel.

As I work only weekdays and Bryan will soon be doing the same we are able to take a lot of weekend trips around Europe as nearly all of the destinations are only a couple of hours away with some being even closer.  We plan our trips efficiently and when bank holiday weekends come up we see it as an opportunity to go abroad and explore a new city or place. It’s all about thinking ahead and using your time wisely.

We were able to take a 2 day trip to Edinburgh this year which was amazing and it was a lovely city that could be explored in such a short amount of time.

The Ups

Our current salaries from working full-time helps us to stay in the places we stay in. Myself and Bryan love our luxury hotels so having a steady salary is perfect for our trips away.

As stated above we are able to take more the 5 trips away a year, most are weekend breaks but we love exploring cities and new destinations even if it is just for a weekend.

The Dowsides

Don’t get us wrong, being able to travel as much as we do is amazing especially with the work committments we have and we do feel lucky to get away more then 5 times a year, however, it does take it’s toll on us physically and emotionally. 

Coming home after every trip just gets harder and harder as we have such a wanderlust and heading into work the day after a late flight home is tiring! 

We are also restricted with annual leave days and while we can take weekend breaks around Europe we can’t go away to more exotic destinations as much as we would like to.

There are both pros and cons for us with travelling and working full-time and this is not a rant in any way. We wanted to give you an insight into this side of things and hopefully give you some ideas on how to travel more while working full-time too.

Why not take the leap and Travel Full-time?

I guess we just are not ready yet, we want to explore many more international destinations before we take that leap. Quitting your steady job with a good salary is quite a leap and we would like to be more experienced travellers before we do so.

As we mentioned we are also currently finishing college so this year travelling fulltime just was not feasible for us.

But who knows maybe in a year or two when we have more experience with writing and travelling we will be ready to take that leap, we both know that it will happen one day anyway as we love travelling and to do it full-time, the way we want, comfortably is our dream.
